When Joby and Amber told us their wedding would be like a large family reunion, they couldn’t have been more spot on. Nick and I walked into the venue with a whirl of activity going on around us. Family on both sides were busy at work creating Amber’s dream day come true. Her older sister used to be a florist and as minutes went by, this stunning vision was created turning the Red Barn into Spring in January. Flowers were on arches, they were in gorgeous vases and they were hung above the arbor.
Photographing Amber and Joby’s wedding was extremely special for Nick and I as we are close friends with the couple. We’ve known Joby for almost 11 years. Meeting the first time through mutual friends on a float trip. We went into the day complete strangers and quickly became the kind of friends that saw each other every weekend (and let’s be honest, some days throughout the week as well). Being around someone like Joby is special. He is inquisitive, easy going and someone who is ALWAYS down to try something new.
When he met Amber years later, I could see similar traits in her. It’s easy to see why these two hit it off so well. When we got to know her a little better, you saw that not only is she similar to him in how she interacts with others, but she also holds very deep values for the Lord, which to me HAD to be icing on the cake for Joby as he is extremely faithful as well.
They always say that the best relationships are the ones that are easy and natural. Nothing makes me happier, as a friend, to know that Joby and Amber hava found exactly that. I love watching these two together. They are completely at ease around one another. And when you get their families all together in a room, you can see the same magical feeling happens between everyone. I hope you guys enjoy the photos that we captured of Amber and Joby’s special day.
Joby & Amber,
Nick and I are soo incredibly happy for the two of you. The way you guys love and support one another is how marriage is supposed to be. I pray that you both hold onto these images, looking at them years down the road and find that you still feel the same magical spark with one another. Thank you so much for allowing us to share our gift with you both. We enjoyed not only working your wedding day, but also attending your wedding day.
We love you both to the moon and back! I cannot wait to see what the first few years of marriage brings y’all. (Maybe a little friend for Aria and Declan 😉 )
Love,
Kelli & Nick Holder
