Jake & Ashley | A Downtown Dallas Engagment Session

SOULMATE

A person with whom you have an immediate connection the moment you meet – a connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before.  As this connection develops over time, you experience a love so deep, strong and complex, that you begin to doubt that you have ever truly loved anyone prior.

Your soulmate understands and connects with you in every way and on every level, which brings a sense of peace, calmness and happiness when you are around them.

SOULMATE…  That’s the one word that kept coming into mind throughout the evening when I was photographing Jake & Ashley’s engagements.  These two are sooo unbelievably adorable.  They move around each other with this calm tenderness that is amazing to witness.  You can tell immediately that God created them to be the perfect match for the other.  When a friend connected them a year ago, it’s easy to see why.  Their passion for architecture, God and family are what bonds them at the deepest level.

Saturday night’s engagement session began at one of my favorite parks, secluded in Highland Park where the historic oaks, romantic gazebo and fountain are the perfect backdrop.  We played around the park getting acquainted with one another.  Stepping in front of a camera can be nerve-wrecking, so I cherish the first part of the session.  I want to make sure all my couples are comfortable right away.  These two made my job so easy as they were full of giggles and excitement from the start.

We later worked our way downtown Dallas, settling in the Arts District where Jake and Ashley turned up the glam.  It was so cool experiencing the city with these two.  Nick and I used to frequent downtown when we first moved, but the moment the kiddos came around, we’ve been enjoying the suburban lifestyle.  LOL!  I love it when my clients have a pulse for the city.  With their careers both being downtown, it was a natural go to for them.

I hope you guys enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed the session.  I cannot wait for April next year to come around where I get to capture their wedding day at the Chapel at Ana Villa.

Ashley and Jake,

Thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer!!!  You guys are the best clients ever and I cannot wait to capture your special day!

Saturday was so much fun!!!  I loved getting to know you both better.  Thank you for being my 1st couple to be photographed downtown in the Arts District.  I LOVE exploring new areas of the city and this was the perfect spot for us.  I also want to thank you again for being willing to go with the flow and let me put you in so many fun poses.  Jake is the BEST nuzzler!!  🙂

See you soon!
